Ishtiyaq Shukri
Ishtiyaq Shukri is the award-winning author of The Silent Minaret, I See You, and An Unwritten Life. The Silent Minaret was the first novel to win the EU Literary Award in 2005. He was born in Johannesburg in 1968. Shukri is a survivor of child sex abuse from the age of ten. He lives in London, where he works in suicide prevention. He is a co-editor at Unwritten Lives.
