Ishtiyaq Shukri is the award-winning author of The Silent Minaret, I See You, and An Unwritten Life. The Silent Minaret was the first novel to win the EU Literary Award in 2005. He was born in Johannesburg in 1968. He lives in London, where he works in suicide prevention. He is a co-editor at Unwritten Lives.

Ulrik Mynthe is a linguist and full-stack web developer. He has worked extensively as an English teacher in South America, Spain, and the Middle East. In 2022, he earned a master's degree as a full stack developer and started building websites. He is the developer at Unwritten Lives.

Vibhu Vasudev is an Indian poet and PhD scholar with Jindal University. His research is in Indian literatures and creative writing pedagogies. His writing has appeared in The Hindu, Indian journal of Postcolonial Literatures, Feminism in India, Perplex Magazine, The New Indian Express, Agents of Ishq, and Scroll.

Iqra Raza

Iqra Raza is a PhD candidate in the Department of English at University of Houston. Born in Bihar and raised in Delhi, she obtained a Bachelor's and a Master's in English literature from the University of Delhi, before moving to the United States. Her dissertation project interrogates the limits and exclusions of the human rights framework, and the discourses through which the 'human' becomes legible. She is also a poet and translator. Her work can be found in

Dr Rubina Setlhare
Psychologist and Podcast Co-host
Dr Rubina Setlhare is a South African educational psychologist and Life Design Specialist with three decades’ experience of working within professional contexts and community-based education structures. Following the Life Design process, Rubina supports adolescents and adults to leverage their personal life narratives and consciously work toward realising their life goals and aspirations, in group contexts and as individuals. She has published locally and internationally on these Life Design processes. Rubina focuses on individual and systemic assets to promote personal agency toward sustainable growth and social justice within communities. Based in both Cape Town and Johannesburg, she has a Pan African focus with established professional and academic links beyond South African borders.
